Relax.

“Your calm mind is the ultimate weapon against your challenges. So relax.” -Bryant McGill

Priest makes it look so easy, right? But the rest of us mortals know it isn’t quite that easy to “just relax.” Most of us probably sit on the couch and think, “ok I can take a short break and relax for the next five minutes.”

But then your brain just won’t turn off, not even for two seconds
And now you only have three minutes left and you still haven’t relaxed
And now your Apple watch is buzzing
And you just remembered that thing you needed at the grocery store
And did your phone seriously just buzz with another email, no don’t think about that, you’re supposed to be relaxing
And honestly why can’t you just remember the groceries you need when you’re at the grocery store
And now it’s been more than five minutes and not only did you definitely not relax, you’re more stressed than when you started.

You’re laughing because you’ve been there right?

So next time you desperately need a break, consider meditation. You may not find instant-quiet-brain-relaxation-time on your first try, but with some practice you will eventually reach a place where you can indeed just sit and relax. If Priest can do it, so can you. *wink*
