Juice Cleanse or Smoothie Cleanse?

Our Summer Cleanse is coming up in June and we’re getting excited! It's the perfect way to support all the exercising you have been doing to get your body ready for the beach and the pool. Because you can do as many squats and planks as you want but if you’re only eating sugary, processed foods, you won’t look or feel the way you want.

So what is it that makes our Green Cleanse so special?

Well, we’ve been running our Cleanse for over twelve years - that’s right, since 2012 (remember what you were doing in 2012? We do! We were Cleansing!). We’re still here, cleansing quarterly and shocking people when they ask how old we are, and we want you to be able to do the same thing!

Here’s another thing that makes our Cleanse special - it’s a smoothie cleanse (with some occasional salads thrown in). Why does this matter? When you look for information on cleanses or detoxes, you’re going to get a lot of information about juice cleanses or juice fasts.

In a juice cleanse, you only drink fruit or vegetable juice - usually for at least three days, but sometimes as many as ten. If juice cleanses are your thing, that’s fine, but we prefer to stick with smoothies for an important reason: fiber.

When you drink juice by itself, you have squeezed out the fiber and many of the other nutrients. The fiber is what provides you with energy and more importantly helps you feel full. Drinking the juice by itself also tends to spike your blood sugar, giving you a ton of energy at first followed later by a crash. You can end up feeling exhausted and hungry. Who wants to be hungry for ten days? Not us. That many days feeling hungry is not going to help you stop craving cookies and pizza.

Now, we can’t tell you if you join us for our Green Feasting Cleanse you won’t ever be hungry. But we call it a feast for a reason. You can drink as many smoothies as you want - they will be filled with the nutrients and fiber you need to keep you going all day long.

Best of all, after seven days of smoothies and salads, you will be well on your way to beating those sugar cravings for good.
